What is eTherapy?

eTherapy is a type of individual therapy that takes place through Skype and/or email. This option is best for those who may not be able to meet in person or by phone and is available for residents of New York, and North Carolina.

How does eTherapy work?

Similar to our individual therapy option, you will Skype with your therapist (usually once a week) to discuss the issue(s) you are looking to resolve. If email is your preferred communication method, then you’ll exchange emails with your therapist until the questions in your initial email are answered to your satisfaction. Either way, your therapist will get to know you and work with you to develop a treatment plan that meets your needs and comfort level, and the two of you will monitor and advance progress on your plan between sessions.

How do I know if eTherapy is right for me?

If you think individual therapy is right for you but you may not be able to meet in person or by phone, then eTherapy could be a good treatment option. However, we encourage you to schedule a consultation with one of our professional client service representatives by clicking here in order to discuss what makes the most sense for your situation.

What can I expect during an eTherapy session?

After scheduling your appointment, your eTherapy session will take place at a time you and your therapist set regularly. You’ll need a connection to the Internet, and if using Skype you’ll need a webcam with a microphone or headset. Over the course of your sessions, we’ll get to know you and develop a personalized treatment plan that suits your comfort level and goals for therapy. We encourage you to work on the insights or suggestions that arise out of your therapy in between sessions, and together we’ll monitor progress on your plan to ensure your journey to a better mind and life is successful.
